Restoration has been a slow process but my friend Dick Cutting spent seven
years restoring his 29. A stay in the hospital and surgery this winter
keep me out of the garage for three months. I am getting close to
retirement and looking forward to spending more time in the garage. The remaining items hood and doors have now been sandblasted. Since the winters are long here in Alaska it is hard to do outside work in the winter months. The doors fit in the sand blasting cabinet but hoods are too big to work but outdoors meaning they wait till summer arrives. Painting the transmission last week was the last part remaining in the running gear. Later this week I will bolt it in place and continue working on the bed members.

| Decking will also be made of oak that I found locally which is 1- 3/16" thick. Because I have yet to purchase a table saw one of my neighbors said he would cut the wood for me when I am ready. | |
